    Hello

Any suggestions please on how to remove this allen bolt? Putting on a back carrier on an old enough frame. Side Bolt was very tight. Applied force, heard snap, now it just spins.

    Many thanks in advance

@doh777 Is there any space between the bolt head and the frame? Sometimes, I'd you can get a screwdriver or something behind it, lever it away from the frame, you can create enough pressure to allow you to unscrew.

Otherwise, you're into drilling out the bolt (but you'll still need to apply leverage to stop it spinning)

There might be a bit of space yes. I'll try that. Thanks 🙏

Hopefully I haven't damaged the thread on the actual frame.

It'll most likely be a rivnut. It's probably damaged, but can be replaced

This, sounds like the rivnut slipped. Loads of penetrating spray/oil, then the pressure while unscrewing after letting it sit is your best option.

Second is a vice grip, pull and twist to apply pressure and screw out, again, loads of penetrating spray before.

my eye was drawn to this and itched slightly - maybe just wipe it to confirm it's not a crack!
