Hi I am getting a new door fitted, so have to remove sensor of old door. before i start am i right in thinking that screw i can see on the front is for senstivity and not holding cover of sensor on? and is it just a case of unclip the sensor cover off at side? Have engineer's code for alarm system. Had another door replaced a few years ago and the alarm guy (now retired) fitted a new sensor, can i do the same, and what type of sensor do i get? i notice with this one the sensor is on the frame of door and contact on door itself, i presume these are senstive enough to set off if someone is tampering with glass in door? as i will probably do same when new door is replaced, purely for assthetics and easier to run cable in trunking than staple. Alarm is HKC SW10270 V4.0.1

The screw holds the sensor lid in place.

It looks like he replaced it with a dual sensor, HKC type which will be what you would use as a replacement.

Put the system in engineer mode and take pictures as you go.

Thanks for reply, have more confidence now to take it on, in regard to sensor on frame rather than door itself i presume this is ok and will pick up anyone trying to break door from outside before contact is activated?

Straight forward to do but always take pictures as the will le you know how everything is wired before disconnecting.

Yes, as the cable is already on the door, it will pick up the vibration before an intruder would gain entry.
