Towing Lake Boat with Engine attached

I've seen drivers tow their lake boat, some with engine down and some with engine tilted.

Is there a general rule of thumb on towing a lake boat with the engine fitted to the boat?

Best advice is to get a transom saver.

It attaches to the end of your trailer and the engine rests in it, taking the strain of the engine bouncing up and down.
