Posters who like to say something that sounds clever and then disappear when asked a question on it

    There's quite a few of these on boards. They like to say something that they think sounds intelligent… they'll often make the same comment every couple of months, but then when you go to ask a more specific question about what they mean, they disappear. You'll can see them logging in and posting away on others parts of the site. If it were me I'd have no problem getting back to the person and saying "maybe I was wrong there" or whatever else.

    Why do people do this?

    A bigger scourge is the snarky first response fishing for likes.

    They sit there waiting for new threads to criticise and never start their own!
