Standardised tests - 1st class level

Hi all, My daughter has standardised tests this week, I'm assuming it's a drumcondra test from briefly reading about it.

Is there any sample papers online I can see? It's just so I understand what to expect.
I don't really plan on going through a sample test with her question by question, but I would like her to understand how to effectively take a test. For example reading a question more than once if it's not clear, moving on if she's stuck.
I can do this without a sample test but a "teaching aid" would be more useful.

Hi there, you really don't need -and indeed shouldn't to do any preparation. The first class Drumcondra tests are screening tests, so that any difficulties can be picked up early. Discussing the test at home could cause anxiety, which is obviously counter productive.

The test is read out to the children, question by question, so she will be moving on in any case. In first, the children write in the booklets ,so it's easier for them to stay on course.

There's a link below to sample items for a maths test, but it's for second class.

Understandable, this is the first time my daughter is doing these tests and from talking to other parents about it all I did was to have a brief chat about it.
    Thanks for the link though!

Some parents focus very much on a “ result” but it’s only a snap shot of how a child did on a particular day . Try to think of it in those terms - you are aware of how your child has been over the entire year .

I’d hope the class teacher would have been in touch if there were any concerns .

Just out of interest, what is the answer to question 57? Now realise, that a day can be cloudy and wet or cloudy and not wet.
