How to floor an old coal shed ?

I'm looking to turn and old coal shed, and lately shed, into a more usable space. My first concern is the floor. It's a solid concrete floor. My plan is to lay some self-levelling compound first and then build a small timber frame with joists upon which to lay the floor. First, is this the right way to go about it? And second, does there need to be any membranes laid between the concrete floor and the frame / joists and new wooden floor?

You need good quality plastic on the floor and the up the walls beyond your floor.

SLC can be a pain, ,it also needs to dry out, shims are easier: the ones they use for windows etc
