    Hi folks,

I have a HKC Securewave 1070 alarm at home.

Am getting new windows & doors shortly - am I better to "poweroff" the alarm to remove sensors etc ?

If so, whats the best way to do this.

Plus - where can I get a keypad door - that is currently broken ?

    thanks

Ring around alarm installers. You need to remove all window and door sensors professionally prior to window crowd arriving and refit them again professionally after they have left. The new windows may need sensors in different locations so may not be straight forward. There is typycally a sticker on the keypad or control panel in hot press with the name of the company that installed it. They are designed to not be easy to disable without the engineer code.

Post up some photos if sensors and alarm company and others may be able to give specific advice.

    Hi,

I installed the full alarm myself and will re-install post works. Thats not a problem at all.

I just wasn't sure how to power off a system, if that's whats needed. or just dis-able all the sensors - as I have the Eng code.

fyi -it is not listed on my house insurance.

Just put the system in engineer mode then tampers wont activate.

It will stay in engineer mode till you put the sensors back on.

Yes, you can also get the new touch keypad for that system, any wholesalers will have them.
