Hi folks, I have a 2008 bxe Passat that’s down on power doesn’t seem to be boosting at all even after changing turbo to see if it made any difference and nothing wondering if anyone has an issue like this and how to solve it cheers.

Have you looked at the intercooler pipe coming from turbo and charge pipe from intercooler to manifold? Take them off if you can and inspect the areas you can't see when installed, the tiniest hole will kill your boost, you could ask a garage to smoke test it which would find anything the eye can't see.

Rule out wastegate if the turbo is new, is there a vacuum solenoid on that engine that could be checked if its supplying enough vacuum pressure to the waste gate actuator?

Unrelated but if memory serves me correct isn't that the VW engine code that likes to throw conrods through the block?
