Changing the swing of a door

I'm looking to change the swing of an internal door. Currently hinges on the left swinging towards centre of the room, looking to put the hinges on the right and swing towards a window.

Can I just leave the hinges on the door, chisel out the door frame to take the hinges on the other side, move the strike plate, and turn the guts of the locking mechanism upside down?

Yes to all although have you 2 or 3 hinges on the door? Center hinge might be where the strike plate was so you'll have to fill that up a little with blocks of wood and wood shims to block up where the old strike plate and hinges where.

Just the two hinges so plenty of room for the strike plate. Thanks for that!

If the frame is square, no problem.

But if your door has been fitted to an off square frame

Then you will have to make a few adjustments.

frame may not be square so best to check that first, door may be planed to match the frame.
