Physio not giving receipts

Have recently had a number of physio treatments. Each time I asked for a receipt, was promised they would send one on. Have used this physio before, and they usually sent on the receipts that evening, so didn't think anything of it initially. I've emailed a couple of times, but no response. I need the receipts to claim back from my medical provider. Just wondering what my next steps could be? Do they have to give receipts?

I had a physio who sent one receipt (with all dates and amounts listed) at the end of my treatment. Perhaps this is what they propose doing?

    Are you paying cash?

I had a similar situation a few years ago, cash only & told straight out that no receipts would be given.

Finished up course of treatment, made up official looking receipt listing dates of treatments & cost.

Submitted to insurance company, paid within a few days with no issue.

Probably tax dodging, therefore do not want to issue receipts.

Thanks all, feels like their tax dodging. I paid by card on sumup, so would have thought they would have declare. Will try again, if it doesn't work -maybe cc their professional body and revenue. I always thought legally they had to provide a receipt, but from googling I'm not sure

    Such wild assumptions.

#1 - There is absolutely no legal requirement to issue receipts.

#2 - the "professional body" will have no interest in this whining complaint and nor should they

#3 - you are making a false allegation of tax evasion based on nothing. Revenue will see you as a crank.

Sum up is a recognised payment system and you must provide a tax registration number. This automatically feeds into revenues systems.

Your sum up payment record is actually a valid receipt

Strange that making a phone call to the physio hasn't been tried before going on boards to complain and before thinking of contacting their professional organisation.

So maybe try calling first before you have physiotherapy Ireland or revenue at their door.

I would not suggest the likelihood of tax dodging. But issuing receipts for professional services is the norm. ROS facilitates the uploading of health receipts on its website.

It is no use for claiming back from your health insurers, which is what the OP needs it for
