Garmin Edge 130 Training Screens Disappeared

    Jumped on the turbo this morning, hit the start button on the Edge and saw a completely blank screen. Thought the device was knackered but once I hit the stop button, the save/discard ride options appeared as normal. Went into the training screen main menu and saw it was completely wiped. No idea why, it was fine on the previous usage.

    Anyway reset the device and was able to recreate screens. When saving the activity at the end of the session, the spinner kept going. The reset didn't wipe activities and after guessing (correctly) that it was trying to upload them all, I connected it to a laptop and deleted old activities.

    All fine but wondering why it happened, has anyone else experienced this ?

    Could have run out of space with old activities which may have caused corruption ?

    Alternatively Garmin are continually sending updates these days and the latest may have caused the issue ?

    Previously you used to be asked whether or not you want to update. If I'm happy with something as is, my inclination is to never update but every time you turn it on you're asked so to stop the nagging the easiest thing is to update !

    They seem to have applied an update recently so that it doesn't even bother to ask now about updates, it just does it !

    Which leads to my next question, anyone know any way to disable updates through the garmin connect mobile app or otherwise ? I looked but couldn't find anything.
