Freeview signal in caravan

Hi there

We got a 2nd hand caravan last year and had rte etc running fine on it with the aerial on the roof. I retuned the TV ifor the new season in our driveway and I noticed it picks up lots of the BBC and channel 4 etc channels but does not display them. Sorry if this is a an obvious question but if I get some sort of decoder or an old sky box will it be able to, decode or whatever the technical term is, these extra channels. Many thanks for your help
