Switching from Sky to Vodafone - how long?

    Hi folks,

I'm in the process of switching from Sky (through SIRO) to Vodafone. It's now two weeks since I received the Vodafone box with a note saying not to connect until I receive a text saying the account is activated. Is two weeks a long time to wait? My Sky broadband is still active.

Anyone got any idea how long it usually takes to to make the switch?

    Thanks for any info.

Still no word on when to connect my new Vodafone box to the Siro line. It's three weeks now. Does this seem like a long time to wait to switch providers? I've tried asking on the Vodafone online help, but it keeps coming back with formulaic answers.

Yeah that seems a very long time for a line that's already installed and just needs a change over, even getting a new line installed with an engineer visit should only be approx. 2 weeks.

I've had a similar experience with Vodafone a few years ago although I didn't have the line installed yet and they didn't send out a router or anything but I picked a date for installation on the website and the date came not a word from Vodafone, kept getting generic responses from online chat ended up just going with someone else and cancelling the order.

Put in a complaint here and someone will get back to you without a generic response - https://www.vodafone.ie/forms/fixed_complaints_form

I just went in the opposite direction from Vodafone to Sky. Contacted them last Thursday and live today so three weeks sounds excessive.
