Hi any advice, myself and my wife are on the mortgage we have 5 years left but she is not on the deeds is this a straight forward process. For peace of mind if anything happened to me I would like to know that it is straight forward for her and not a long drawn out process or would a will be enough

    A will would be enough.

She will also get it if you die without a will assuming you have no children, or 2/3rds of the estate if you do.

It is far more convenient if the spouse is a joint owner.

Wills have to go through probate which can be time consuming and costly. Intestacy is even worse. If your major asset on death is the house and there is relatively little which is not in joint names it may be possible to avoid probate altogether. The best thing you can do for your relations is save them hassle and expense when you die.
