    Folks,

Current setup for home use below. Looking to either replace or upgrade for W11. What are your thoughts? I was thinking about replacing the main board, CPU and Ram only. Graphics card, case, power supply, storage etc all fine.

    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
    Intel Core i5 @ 3.30GHz
    RAM 16.0GB
Motherboard; Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Z97P-D3 (SOCKET 0)
Graphics; 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (Gigabyte)

Storage; 232GB Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB (SSD) + 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-08M2NA0 (SATA)
    Optical Drives; TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224DB
    Audio; NVIDIA High Definition Audio

You can bypass the compatibility checks now by just doing a clean install or prepping the install to ingore them from an upgrade. After that you have to upgrade the major version changes manually which is fairly straight forward. Ran a old system like that for a while with no issues beyond the manual update.

If that all sound like a pain in the behind then what is your budget? What are you thinking medium term with this.

Looking to get another few years out of it really. Case, power supply, storage and video card all perfectly fine for my needs. Would spend up to €500 on replacement parts or a bit over €1000 if I needed a new setup.
