tuning on a current LLoytron 'wood effect' PP6403 or N6403 FM/AM(MW)/USB & Bluetooth dial- tuned radio

This is currently for sale in many retailers in ROI

What possessed them ( LLoytron ) to design the tuning to have the dial going in descending rather than ascending frequencies?
i.e. 108 FM is at the far left, not far right of the dial.
It is not something ordinary people are accustomed to....

Many will for example just tune to the left of the dial looking for say RTE Radio 1, and tune in Newstalk instead!

People may not bother look at the numbers beside the dial, or people (who need them) (especially elderly people) not have their reading glasses on anyway and cannot read the dial numbers anyway, and just tune towards the far left looking for RTE R1, when on this particular radio it would be towards the far right.. (or vice versa for Newstalk)

The designer might have copied one from the old days, as it seems to be one of those "retro" jobs. I see the old ones on eBay. I wouldn't worry about the elderly people. They have adapted to many changes over the years. When they were young they would have had to use an external aerial to get any reception. One from eBay below from before the FM band went up to 108. There are also ones with vertical dials.
