Hello, I have just got insured on my dogs car yesterday .I've received my insurance certificate. I've asked her how she managed that and she said she informed them and they took all my details. I paid 500 for to be put on the insurance etc. As I said got receipts and insurance disc. How is this possible? I don't want to keep at her but I assume this is ok then?

EDITED out original reply - Not worth leaving a reply when the OP keeps changing the situation / question.

She gave details over the phone, I was even stopped at a check point produced my licence to Garda and asked them about licence just in case, they looked at my licence and told me to go on. The insurance company have photocopies of it sure. I'm just curious because I didn't expect to get insured but my friend says her work mate is insured on her husband's too in the same situation and was beforehand also with another company.

Its not an insurance companies role to enforce driver licensing. It is your responsibility to have a valid licence for any vehicle you drive. If you a caught driving without a valid licence, being insured will not get you off.

But I explained it to police at checkpoint they looked and told me to go on?? It was explained to the insurance company they took a scanned copy and still insured me?? This is literally what happened. I'm in disbelief too but I have the disc

Why would you get insurance for a car you're not entitled to drive? If you only have an automatic license then you can only drive automatic cars

How are you insured on a vehicle someone else owns? Why would you receive an insurance disc? I'm afraid I don't understand what you are actually asking here? Are you a named driver on her insurance policy? Why would you receive a certificate of insurance, that's doesnt make sense
