Hi I have recently moved to a place where there is an old currently rotted(see the image). I need to change it to something better as I plan to make this my office space. So mostly I will be spending around 8 hours or so. How can I fix this? Whats the best option I have? Is it better to get a standard door and cut it or should I go custom door making route. Thanks in advance.

Quite a few doors you see are standard doors cut to size and that's what it looks like happened here!

The problem with this one is it's height - tall people are at risk of hitting their heads.

Thanks for the reply @Victor. Okay I will keep that in mind. Is there a possibility to get PVC or glass door with this size(or can they be cut as well). In the perspective of light it would be good to have. But not sure if it feasible or not?

Just noticed that you have an open roof drain right overhead the door!!. Must be very interesting when it's lashing rain !.

uPVC doors can be ordered in pretty much any size. Also given a new uPVC door would need new door frame, the easiest means to get that sorted would be to give a local Door/Window company a shout. You could keep an eye on Donedeal too as many companies selling on the doors they remove and you might get lucky sourcing a suitable door and frame.

If you want to DIY it? Cutting down a standard door to fit will be made that little bit easier as you have the old door to use as a template, particularly for hinge and lock locations.

That could be why it has rotted at the bottom from the water splashes.
