Seems like good value travel bag from Lidl next Monday. I assume these are ok to put under a seat on a Ryanair flight.

What are the dimensions (including wheels if any)?

I wouldn't assume anything with Ryanair these days, they've gotten very strict on cabin luggage sizing.

measurements here . Too big I’d say

they don’t tend to check the back packs because if there’s any bit of space in the back pack it usually fits into tbe frame, they tend to go for the hard shell cases with wheels for easy pickings

    The internet isn’t for everyone

That is too big. They've gone all out checking backpacks recently. If it's not the size stated then you'd be unwise to purchase it.

40x20x25 cm for under seat bag on Ryanair.

See, this is what they've been getting people on - there's an inch or so above the frame - so €60 please (or whatever the fine is)

It clearly will fit under the seat no problem whatsoever, but if there's so much as a wheel or a seam poking above the frame, they have you bang to rights.

I think if someone made a bag, where you could remove the straps and clip them on t carry it on your back. it would be better. ( I could wear the straps under my coat getting on the flight). I think the straps make the bag more bulky and awkward. Thanks @HeidiHeidi , I'm going to get that one you have recommended

    I haven't recommended any bag!

I got a carry bag (not a backpack) in Dealz recently - cost me €6. It's got 2 carry handles and a crossbody strap, and it fits the Ryanair requirements perfectly. They had small wheelie bags too (hard shell case), but I wasn't going to risk it!

Thanks @HeidiHeidi I might get the same one, great recommendation

    I am not recommending bags!

Ifyou read my post I'm saying that actually it looks like it's liable to attract fines.....

I think that the hard cases are much better, provided they fit the size (including the wheels if any).

Reason being is that if you can close it, then it's fine (Very rarely weigh it at the gate…only seen that once, many years ago).

But with the soft bags, they will meet the specification when empty but if you try to stuff them, they expand out rather than remaining rectangular. As a result, they won't fit in the slider.

The hard ones obviously can't expand no matter how much you stuff it.

    Bought 8, thanks OP.

I grabbed a 10 euro backpack out of penny's a few weeks back, fits perfectly under the seat, perfect if you're just nipping across the sea for a weekend.

I was advised to visit this thread by a friend. He said that a great bag was recommended. Looks amazing @HeidiHeidi. Would it be alright to send this on to my local WhatsApp groups? Thanks a million.

Same. I got two of them for a flight next week. €6 is a bargain.

    how about aer lingus who require 33 x20x 25cm compared to ryanair 40 x 20 x 25.

could you use the ryanair size 40 x20 x 25 on aerlingus. its 7cm difference

The best quality-price Ryanair bag is the Decathlon one for 7€

I flew with this last month. If you stuff the thing, it will end up being over the allowed dimensions for Ryanair. The width will be about 43cm. However, it will still fit in their sizer yoke so you shouldn't be charged. You can actually cram a surprising amount in it.

Or there's one on sale in Dealz which I've used a couple of times that's even cheaper, and is 👌 at €6

Love how the tag gives the impression that it's a Ryanair bag.....

We've used it several times with Ryanair, and it fits perfectly, as you mentioned. We've never been asked to measure it, likely because the ground staff are familiar with them and don't bother checking. I love the quality and capacity of these bags. I'm always surprised by how much clothing can fit into such a small bag. They are incredibly sturdy. The only downside is that they can become uncomfortable to carry when overloaded. Several friends and family members have also bought them, having experienced backpacks that ripped after just a few trips, while ours are still going strong. For 8€, I would recommend everybody to give them a try

Yeah I wish the handles were longer so you could wear it like a backpack. I have only used it the once and it did get uncomfortable at times alright but I had a lot in it so it was heavy enough. I might get something to pad the stap, might help make it a bit more comfortable

Yet another great recommendation HH! Thanks for posting all these…

Has anyone seen a backpack that’s slightly bigger than the Ryanair?

    I’m looking for one that’s 42x32x25.
