Hi I was hoping someone could confirm the requirements for a gas locker in a campervan if you want to make your own.

As far as I can gather so far is is as per belw but I was hoping for some form of 'official' guidance.

    All joints must be sealed.

You must bring copper to the locker but you can use hose internally.

You can't bring the copper pipe directly into the locker, get a bulkhead coupler.

You must have a lip at the bottom at least 75mm high to trap any gas that may leak

You also need a drop out vent through the base and out the bottom of the van min 50mm dia one

The locker must also be big enough that the vent isn't under the cyclinder.

The tank itself must be secured internally with 2 straps

    Door must be sealed .

That's correct ,,you bottom vent must go through your locker floor and out through your floor of van ..also have a roof vent and a carbon monoxide detector/fire extinguisher..I converted a t5 a few years ago and got it certified after I fitted it by a reg gas engineer for my own and family peace of mind ..can skimp on safety..
