Officially FREESAT isn't available in RoI, so retailers don't promote it. Grand to be able to get it, epg, auto updates. Is it possible to renumber the Saorview channels if the set is set UK for broadcasting.

I'm in West Dublin, as for saorview channel numbers i've not plugged an aerial in yet.

I bought an LG telly last year, and unfortunately it just had a satellite tuner, not freesat, so didn't bother using it. Too awkward.

Are you saying it only had a satellite tuner, no terrestrial tuner. Installing Freesat on a LG tv is fairly straightforward, select UK in broadcasting during the tuning stage, one of the options will be Freesat, put in a UK postcode and 30 seconds later the channels will be in order.

I might try that again then, I probably went into setup initially as Ireland, rather than UK.

Edit : mine is UR80006 model, and I can see in the Setting i can change Broadcast region from Ireland, hopefully without a reset

If you set your location to UK in the General menu, Freesat should appear in the tuning menu.

I got the Freesat tuned andall works, however, it's not very user friendly.

When i had a separate Freesat box connected, it showed up on the main screen with LIVE TV, FREESAT, and my FIRESTICK as 3 distinct inputs.

Now the Irish channels AND the Freesat channels are both stored in LIVE TV entry, but there's no quick way of switching between them?

Use the shortcuts on the remote. If you are on BBC One Freesat, a long press of one of the numbers on the remote will assign it to that number. And a long press will bring it up at any time later. And use another number for a Freeview/Saorview channel. You can quickly switch between them that way.

A long press of 0 on the remote also brings up a menu to assign other shortcut functions to the digits 1 to 9.

We have a few LG TVS here. I set RTE1 as shortcut on number 1 on remote and BBC2 as shortcut on number 2. A long press of either bring you into the tuner for either aerial or satellite and you can access the channels on each system by entering numbers or alternatively scroll up/down etc. It is really easy to access then. You can set up apps and external sources on shortcuts too, e.g. Netflix on 3, Youtube on 4, Playstation on 5 etc.

There is a List button on the remote for setting up Favourites. I don't use it myself, but some people could find it useful.

I did not bother with a Postcode, so my Freesat channel list starts with 101 BBC One London. I put that on Shortcut 1, so I can always return to the start without delay. BBC One NI is channel 966, down among the BBC regions. I made that Shortcut 2. RTE 1 is Shortcut 3.
