Am I safe to buy an iphone from a private phone shop?

What l mean is, my daughter wants to buy an iphone 14. I have seen them advertised for sale online from phone shops, and seen some in person too, for a good few 100s cheaper than buying off Apple. She is on a sim only contract which she can pay herself each month so she needs to buy the phone outright. I rang one store, who assured me the phone is brand new and for the European market and l can register it with Apple etc. ...Now, if its some tax dodge or even money laundering l will buy as she really wants the phone but money is very tight so its that or buy a refurbished one. My worry is that it would be a fake phone, or not able to be used here or something. Has anyone experience of buying from places like this, and were phones ok? I generally think if it looks too good to be true it generally is, but faced with the choice of a new phone or second hand for around the same money l just would like some advice as she has saved up for so long to afford this phone.

    Many thanks for any advice.

We bought a laptop about a year ago from Zteck in Clondalkin (there's another in Nass I think). It was brand new MacBook Air. Registered perfect with Apple for the one year warranty. Only downside was power adapter was US plug, and US keyboard. But much cheaper than apple, even the apple refurb store.
Similarly I recently got a brand new iPhone 15 from tech bay in Terenure. Sealed in box, registered with Apple for 1 year warranty. There are a good few shops selling new apple products at substantially reduced prices on adverts.ie and done deal. Just check out their feedback first.

Ive bought probably 10 - 15 phones (for the kids etc) from zteck in the last few years - they used to be online only but have a shop opened in clondalkin village - Absolutely no problems recommending them.

As a matter of fact Im supposed to be picking up a Pixel 9 pro xl (or 9 fold next week off them) if I can ever make up my mind!!!

The 2 lads in the shop are sound to deal with and no issues with warranty or anything like that.
