Fellow children of Fianna Fail - were you raised to think having no shame/being corrupt were good

This sounds weird, but I was raised in a Fianna Fail family, and it's weird because as i was raised FF, I can't help but thinking being corrupt and having no shame are positive attributes, because that was what was driven into me by my grandad.

Anyone else had this experience, when you enter the real world and realise that other people don't see those as positive?

I remember going to school and rowing with teachers over Haughey. Because my grandad had constantly told me about how great he was.

Like do you ever get angry when people don't enjoy the pleasure of pulling a stroke.

Nope my childhood had no politics involved, I was too busy with you know, normal childhood things? Couldn't give a **** who my parents or grandparents voted for, still don't care about politics.

Being corrupt is all fun and games until you get caught, being without shame is now known as "telling it like it is" - a.k.a being an insufferable arsehole who doesn't know when to shut their mouth. Some people might see that as a strength, I don't and won't waste time on anyone with that particular trait.

It wasn't like I was being tutored, but my grandad was mates with Fianna Fail lads, one of whom is IMO (and most people's opinions) one of the most incompetent and notorious politicians of the last forty years, but he used to give me cool gifts like an X Files episode guide.

Lovely man, absolutely atrocious minister. The Comical Ali of Ireland.

What's worrying is that while I'm sure nearly everyone can pick an FF Minister you may be describing, we probably won't even come close to agreement

My pick is Conor Lenihan but there's sooo many other choices.
