Olive Trees Struggling - How to revive?

    Hello everyone,

I have 2 Olive trees in planters as in the photographs but they have been struggling for the past 12 months. I have stones for drainage at the bottom of the pots and have tried adding chicken manure to help but they are still not doing great.

Is there anything I can do to help bring them back.

    Thanks a mill

Olive trees are usually quite happy in pots & while they can be fairly thirsty, they also don’t like to be too wet but it sounds like you’ve thought of drainage. Check if they need to be repotted, not sure how rooty they get in what timeframe. Perhaps a nutrient boost might help, something like a tomato feed. It has been very cold & grey until the past few days so that probably hasn’t suited them. As much sun as possible, a warm wall behind them from now on & a bit of a prune could encourage them.

Was expecting worse, what leaves they have are very healthy so the chicken manure is doing it's job. Exposure looks the main culprit, so just gotta wait until the weather warms up and they should recover. Keep up the feeding which is important with stuff in pots.

Thanks so much folks, Really appreciate you taking the time to give advice.

Will try and move them to a slightly 'sunnier' area and keep feeding.

    Thanks again :-)

I went mad and bought 10 Olives which i planted in ten containers . During winter 23 /24 they fared badly and shed most of their leaves . I replanted them in larger containers and fed the a specific olive fertiliser i bought on amazon but it’s also sold in garden centers here . As last summer progressed they recovered beyond belief . Your looks a bit stressed but i suggest it will recover perfectly . I believe it’s the wind that caused my issue as the most exposed where the trees that suffered most
