Refurbish cue or buy new

I've started back playing again over the last few months after almost 30 years, since my teenage years. The cue I'm using is a Hirst, which I bought as a teenager and have kept in somewhat decent condition over the years. I recently replaced the tip. The ferrule needs to be replaced, which I might do myself, fairly confident. The cue itself could benefit from some straightening out. I've considered trying a DIY fix with a few ideas in mind that may or may not work but I'm not entirely confident.

I'm here to see if anyone has any recommendations for someone reliable in the Munster region where I could drop it in and see if they can restore it to a somewhat better condition if possible.

If that fails and does not work, I may buy a new cue if I continue playing regularly. I've been browsing a few options, including cues by Ronnie O'Sullivan and Mark Selby.

Any advice or suggestions here would be great 🙂

You're looking at cues by O'Sullivan & Selby? You do know that they're only adding their names to cheaply made cues & are not worth buying if you're looking to start back. Look at Woods cues or go onto facebook, look up Cues Store Ireland or PC Cues based in Mayo.

The pictures alone of the cues I did suspect their name was attached. If I am right they get their cues made and engineered from Parris Cues. I'll check those recommendations out on FB. Thanks :)

They might get their own cues done by John Parris. The cue's with their names on are just endorsed cue's & not worth the money tbh.
