How do I log into eir modem?

The below is from the eir website.

Except there is nothing noted as "WiFi key" on the back of my modem.

I have an SSID and have tried that with and without the "eir" at the start. I have an S/N, MAC and Password (not my current password). As I have changed it before I must have logged in before but can't recall how.

Why use a term "WiFi key" that doesn't align with anything on the modem…

    From eir:

Please follow the steps below to change your WiFi password or visit our device helpsection.

Note: You must be connected securly to your modem using the WiFi connection or ethernet cable to make these changes.

    • Open your browser, type 192.168.1.254 into your address bar and press enter.
    • The username required is admin.
    • The password is the same as your WiFi key (printed on the back of your modem router).
    • The option to change your WiFi password will usually be located on the homepage when you login or in your network settings. Look out for the "wireless LAN" option.

Now simply reconnect all your devices using your new WiFi password.

On the back of the router it will have the original SSID and underneath it the password to use to log into the web interface. Usually 192.168.1.254.

You may have changed the ssid and the password. If you have forgotten the password you changed it to you would need to perform a factory reset of the modem to get back into it using the ssid and password from the back of the box.

Post a picture of the back of the router if you want and we can tell you exactly where to enter it.

    Thanks for helping.

I know the password I changed it to, this is the one I use to connect any device to the internet. I understand the SSID is the name that appears when I search, I didn't change this.

Just trying to understand what password to use when logging in to 192.168.1.254. I can get that page to load so that is good. Is "admin" always the username?

as far as I know yes it’s always admin. What model specifically do you have?

The password to enter on that page is the password below the ssid on the back of the router. Make sure it’s admin and not Admin as they can be case sensitive
