Does anyone know how I would be able to get my UK national number, I worked there in 1984-1985. Any help would be great, thank you

I read this in the Irish Independent, they had an article about it recently!

How do I find my national insurance number?

There are several ways to find it, including online. However, this can be quite technical. To get ahead of the application deadline (April 5), the quickest route is to go to a Jobs & Benefits office in Newry, Derry or Enniskillen. Their records date from 1976. Bring two forms of ID and details of where you worked/lived in the UK. Your visit should last five minutes.

@rubberdungeon I think I'm going to have to make the trip to Newry from R.O.I. HMRC posted 12March '25. Still haven't got it yet. Anxious to fill out online app before 5Apr deadline. I was concerned I'd get there and they'd say "we don't have records going back to '94". This puts my mind at rest that they can access older records. Thanks for post.
