Keeping Starlings out of the eves/attic

Last year I had starlings nesting under my roof tiles and some got into the attic, this year I'd like to try prevent them from getting into the attic or stop them at source. Is there any electronic device that might emit a noise that would scare them form the attic at least?

It's a two storey house so I'd like to try preventing them from the inside rather than I having to climb up on the outside. Though I was thinking of using a mesh along the shoot and turned up over the face of the roof tile.
