has anyone had rising damp in their homes? We’ve had an assessment carried out because of damp problems we suspected the rising damp as the cause and it was confirmed. Our house was built in 1900 we only bought it 4yrs ago, no signs of this when we had it assessed.

The assessor has come back with a quote of almost 8k to fix the problem, which is fine if it works but is a lot of it’s only like putting a plaster on the problem.

So the works to be carried out will be bringing the external walls where the problem is back to concrete, injecting dpc creams into the walls, cavity membrane lining them, insulation plaster board and re plastering, installing heat recovery units and a ulv fogging spray to be sprayed in the house.

Has anyone had this or similar works done and had it actually worked and the problem didn’t come back
