It appears the cut off rate has been incorrectly applied to my pay this month at work (PAYE). Would this be a revenue call or payroll call to resolve it. We haven’t had any changes in the household in the last month. The amount is significant.

It depends, your payroll department should be getting the figures from downloading your RPNS and tax information from the Revenue website. This should be done every tax period to make sure that the credits are correct. I would suggest logging into your MyRevenue account and going to your inbox you should then click on the 2025 folder, it should state there if there was any changes to your tax credits/cutoffs, or see what your tax credits and cut off rates are. If this is correct I would then ring your Payroll department, if its wrong I would suggest sending them a myenquiry or ringing the Revenue.

Payroll will be able to give you the answer as to the change in RPN between January and February, but they won't know what has driven the reduction just the amount

Your amended tax credit cert will detail the current split of the cutoff between you, your spouse and all employments, you can compare this to the original tax credit cert from Dec 2024 to see what has changed
