I’m looking for some insights into what a clerical officer role in the DSP (office-based, customer-facing) is like.
What does a typical day look like? Is it seven hours of serving customers, or is it a mix of administration and computer work as well?

It's normally a bit of both, assuming you're in a reception area in a local office. Counter shifts answering queries several times a week, and general off counter admin (scanning post, replying to emails and phone calls, completing tasks on claims, etc).
