We're renovating and extending a semi-detached house in Dublin. The house is 70m2. We've spoken with an architect and the first thing he's looking to do is a measured survey, which includes the preparation of a full set of CAD drawings. The price quoted for this is €1,800 ex VAT, so €2,214 inc VAT. This seems a lot to me…

We're renovating and extending a semi-detached house in Dublin. The house is 70m2. We've spoken with an architect and the first thing he's looking to do is a measured survey, which includes the preparation of a full set of CAD drawings. The price quoted for this is €1,800 ex VAT, so €2,214 inc VAT. This seems a lot to me but I don't have much of a reference. Does it seem too much? Is this the kind of thing that can be negotiated?
