Replace switch cord in the bathroom with a wireless switch

Has anyone replaced the switch cord in the bathroom with a wireless switch? Something like a kinetic switch?

Looking to remove the cord, and avoid the pain that is to replace the cord switch.

I've been looking online, but can't seem to find anything that supports 47Amps - that's the max value that the current switch supports, and I imagine, by the thickness of the wires that go into the switch cord, it needs to be something strong.

I assume it's for a shower?

You could potentially wire the shower through a contactor which is controlled by the kinetic switch.

You would still need an isolator switch near the shower anyway.

It's more work than just replacing a switch and probably not worth the hassle

Thanks. I thought it would still be safe since I was removing a electric component (corded switch) out of the bathroom.

Ya, a contactor and a Shelly/kinetic is the answer alright, except it's as meercat said it's risky and not permitted. Just too many elements (electrons, water and fire!) going on to be safe to DIY.

You know you never need to pull that cord right? So many people turn it on and off every shower saving fractions of pennies by not having the neon lit. Except they then pay to have the seitch replaced when it wears out prematurely from overuse..

Remove the lower part of the string and think no more about it.

Does the isolation within 2m requirement have to be in the same room? I know of a few houses that have a cooker switch outside the bathroom instead of a pull cord

It's worth pointing out that the isolation switch is there for the engineer to work on the shower. However the fire officer recommends using this after each shower. It is possible for the shower to go on fire when not in use. The isolation cuts out this tiny risk
