I have noticed the green LAN light on my Huawei ONT blinking before but not this rapidly and in a regular blink like that I'm pretty sure before it blinked but not as fast like this.

I checked all stuff on the network in the house to make sure they were not downloading anything or playing youtube videos or anything like that and they wasn't .

any ideas does it look normal - it looks like something is using a lot of data, I cannot think what.

That video is private, so we can't see it.

But a human not doing something doesn't mean their devices aren't doing a multitude of automated things, updates to OS, programs etc.

Does your router not have stats/graphs or other monitoring facility to see what ports and MAC addresses are involved?

The LED is not an indication of how much data is being used (video is public now) - no matter what you think is not downloading data it very likely is making some kind of connection somewhere

It's working now. But as Fritzelly said, it's just a general indicator of activity, and nothing beyond that. It doesn't mean anything nefarious, or even any particular level of usage.

ah right thanks all - its just that I havent seen it flash as fast as this before and as stable as this , its normally flashed slower and not uniformed - not done anything different with the devices running off the router or doing any more intensive stuff. - unless its always blinked like this and I am only just noticing it now.
I will have to try it again tomorrow with every device disabled in the network of the router , or disable 1 at a time see if I can see any difference in the speed of the flash

It's when you don't see blinking lights that you start worrying…
