Replace old light fixture

I am trying to replace an old damaged Batten light fixture. House wired early 90s. I opened it up and it only has 2 wires.

2 questions.

1. The wires here, Blue is neutral and Brown is live right?
2. The image below is the replacement Batten light fixture. A is for Earth I think but where to connect Blue wire and Brown wire? B or C?

Is it for a screw in lamp or a bayonet cap type?

That's the top of the new fixture, it's supposed to be for a lamp https://www.woodies.ie/batten-lamp-holder-1139624?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1KvX0pfJiwMVOIhQBh1oIx7MEAQYASABEgIOH_D_BwE but it's going to be screwed into the ceiling as replacement for the old batten fixture

Since a bayonet type bulb can be put in either way, it doesn't matter which is live and which is neutral.

BTW, that existing wire is in bad shape, the live (brown) is split where somebody cut it with a knife and the grey jacket is mangled. It would be best if it was replaced in situ with a fresh length.
