Water Softener Resin Replacement

I have a Homewater Dual Tank non electric water softener for the last 8 years in a busy house, 6 people. Still regenerating as it should but the water is not soft like it used to be, starting to scale the kettle, shower door has limescale marks and you notice the water difference when you shower. After a bit of researched, maybe the resin needs replacing or could it be something else. Has anyone replaced the resin or know someone who does it. Thanks for any help. Not in a position to buy new right now.

I did including a local well known company that does basically the same machine. They don't want to deal with repair or overhaul. Just sell new machines.
