Rehoming a Cat

    Hi folks,

My mother is moving to an assisted living facility in the next few weeks.
She is looking forward to it, she has needed help for some time.

She started feeding a stray (Arthur) a few years ago, and gradually he moved in. He was good company for her.
I am not sure of Arthur's age, but I am guessing that he is 10 years or more.

She can't bring Arthur with her, there is a strict no pet's policy, which is understandable.
But she of course is worried about what will happen to Arthur.

Arthur and I are not friends, he appears to be very wary of men in general.
I have spent a good bit of time with him, and the situation hasn't improved.
Also I have a bad history with cats and foxes, where I live.

The rest of the family is aware of the situation, but nobody is putting their hand up to care for Arthur.
Clearly Arthur is our responsibility, but this is a problem I need to solve also.

Is there such a thing as rehoming service?

    Ray K

You should see if there are any rescue centres in your local area that would take him him. Or check with the RSPCA maybe? You could put a post on the local FB page or ask around her neighbours to see if someone would be willing to take him.
