Admins on Work WhatsApp groups

I've been on a few WhatsApp work groups here and there, which would usually be more of a social thing without supervisors being members. But what I've noticed with a few these groups is that the people who are admins can get quite cocky about this mere fact! I'm under the impression that certain people are willing to beg to become an admin, and it can cause resentment if that person is very junior in the company.
There's one person on our WhatsApp group at the moment and she seems to be the most antisocial, quiet and rude person I've met. But on the app she all over the shop!

looking at them in work is enough.
