As title says…is there an E2 box that can utilise the satellite cable feeds as used for Sky Q box or would I need to revert to the old octo LNB I removed when SkyQ was installed?

Correct. But look closely at lnb and if it has more than 2 outputs then you could be in business.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I already have a hybrid LNB with six downleads two of which are used for SkyQ but my question is if I drop SkyQ is there is an E2 box available which can use those same two wideband inputs?

No. Only Sky Q and the Arris Freesat boxes use that wideband LNB. You can get better performance from E2 boxes , but they use the more widely available and open Unicable LNBs and boxes with FBC tuners.

Most on here go for the cheapest boxes , so Zgemma H7s is the order of the day. They are the E2 equivalent of a Sky HD box.

VU+ boxes and Gigablue boxes cost about 370 euros and have options for FBC tuners and DVB T tuners for Saorview as Irish Channels are not free to air on satellite.

A Unicable II LNB will cost you about 50 quid.

This setup will outperform a Sky Q box in terms of available tuners , a dual FBC tuner gives you 8 tuners , and because those 8 tuners cover nearly all transponders , the amount of simultaneous recordings has no real limit. ( some have had 50 channels record at the same time.)

Multiroom can be had by buying any single tuner E2 box and setting it up in client mode , and connecting it to your VU+ or Gigablue over the network. Also any Plex or Kodi install can use the tuners in these boxes.

E2 boxes do not do netflix , disney + , amazon prime etc. or any of those catchup streaming services.
