Could you sleep in a car and be comfortable ? What would you need, sleeping bag or…

Also what is a good sleeping bag not too expensive . There is a place I like to visit and it's very peaceful . I often wondered what it would be like to stay overnight but I'm not a camper ,don't have a tent etc..

Oh, it can be done. Plenty of people make little "micro-campers" in estate cars etc.

You DO need something warm under you, and a warm sleeping bag plus a wool blanket, at the very minimum. Don't forget ventilation. And bring a little camp-stove to use outdoors, to make your coffee in the morning.

Heating and ventilation are the big problems sleeping in a car. They get cold very quickly. Although you can protect yourself against the cold with a good bag, blanket, heat reflector underneath you, beanie sleep hat, etc, you'll need to vent the car. That will in turn make you lose heat faster and require a better bag. Although you'll be in the bag, you'll be effectively outdoors. You'll be waking up often and running the engine to heat up the car. If you're the only one there and it sounds like you will, then that won't be a problem. Just don't fall asleep with the engine running.
