Im looking to get a new phone in the next few weeks. Budget around €800-1k, must have dual physical SIM and a top end battery/fast charging and a good camera.

Currently have a OnePlus Nord3 which was very good for the price and to be honest, maybe I should just go for the Nord4. I've been looking at the OnePlus 13 but it's hard to justify €1200 and not even get the charger, which seems to be the norm now. I was also looking at the Pixel 9 Pro but the lack of physical dual SIM ruled that out.

The xiaomi 14t pro looks great on paper, great specs, top camera, decent battery, crazy quick charging. It has everything, good price, but I'm reading about the bloatware and ads, I know you can disable some, but can you disable them all? It would drive me nuts having ads everywhere.

Looked at the S24 as well but I'd be paying big bucks for an older model with the S24 out, and reading the specs/reviews the charging time of over an hour would be a bit of a pain.

Am I missing anything or are there any other pros/cons to the above?

See below for what's on offer given your criteria specified. You might want to widen the price range to take account of potential price declines/local price premia. There isn't an option to specify dual SIM AND none e-SIM but it will give you an idea of what's available.

I was in a gadget store in Spain today Media Market they have a massive smartphone display.

I took a look and was very impressed by the Xiaomi 14T.

I see it on Adverts.ie for €500 or even lower

listen to your gut, the Nord 4 has some great features for the money. Hard to justify spending double.

Is there any Android phone out recently with a replaceable battery?

Clearing out a drawer of old bits and pieces the other day, and found a few phones with such a feature, realised it was a brilliant thing, no need to worry about fading battery any more, just replace it.

Not sure why they ever went for sealed batteries? Probably for water tightness, or built in obsolescence.

Fairphone 4 is repairable, as is the HMD Pulse and Skyline phones

as an iPhone user I have to say it looks fantastic.

I love iOS for its simplicity but as I just said to the missus I can get 3 X Nord4 for my iPhone 16 pro.

With the kids coming upto mobile ages I’ll be considering switching.

Went with the Nord 4 which came with the oxygen 15 OS.

Happy with it so far, really just a better Nord 3 which makes sense. Seems slightly quicker, better battery, and super fast charging which were the main things.

How you getting on with it a couple of months later?

I'm trying to decide between the Xiamoi 14t and the Nord 4, or splashing out the few extra hundred and going with the OnePlus 13 which can be got now in 12/256gb version for €925
