Hi I separated 3 months ago after 24 years. We have a joint bank account which both wages go into and have a joint mortgage. Am I eligible for one parent family payment as he refuses to set up separate bank accounts

You do not need his permission or co-operation to open your own bank account, and you can give your employer your new account details and ask for your wages to be paid in there. Better to arrange things by agreement with your ex, obviously, but you can act without it if you need to. Just make sure that you set up a regular transfer from your new account to the joint accoun of a sufficient amount to cover your share of the mortgage payments (and of any other joint expenses that you and he are still sharing).
