Question regarding NSSO Travel pass

I work in the civil services and had to travel every week once to Cork from Dublin. Generally, the trip would cost me minimum of 43 euros/week if I get a low raik fare ticket. If I don't find low rail fares, I have to book a semi flexible fares which would cost me 52 euros around.

I have decided to take travel pass this year. The annual Irish rail ticket would cost me 4100 euros (no point to point). Applying a tax of 40% bracket and PRSI, it would come around 2100 something. I am earning close to 60k. So I should be in the 40% tax bracket right? Please let me know.

Can I use this ticket to travel to a different town/or use on weekends if I have to travel? Please let me know.

I know these are simple questions, but I appreciate it if you could reply.

The all rail services ticket is all rail services, just no reservations, that ticket will be updated in June to cover all public transport except expressway so worth waiting for that

At 60k you should get full relief as you have calculated

Allow for holidays etc in your calculation it’s a marginal saving at best unless you also plan to use the ticket for leisure travel also

If you have to travel for work why aren't work paying for it?

You misunderstood Cookie. I am paying the same from my pocket every month (around 190 euros/month). Having this travel pass would be flexible for me to change the travel dates whenever I want. Else I have to pay extra fees by my way of paying.

the question being asked is if your job needs you to travel can you not expense that?

My bad, I didn't read it properly. I live in Dublin and my office is based in Cork. I have no intention to move. So, it is my responsibility to pay from my pocket.
