New build - What GPU to pair with a 9800x3d? Where to source

Managed to get my hands on a 9800x3d last week.. Struggling to track down a GPU to go with it. (New build, first time builder)

Having a look on Amazon, 4070 TI Supers are going for ~€1000 while 4080 Supers up on €1400.

I'm not into multiplayer or competitive gaming, solely building for open world & possibly simulator games.

1. What other sites are you guys looking at for parts?
2. What's the lowest spec card you'd pair with a 9800x3d?
3. Have these GPUs been this overpriced since launch? (I'm new to the world of PC building, been console all my life)

4080 Super has just been replaced by RTX 5080 which are both out-of-stock pretty much everywhere.

Likewise, 4070 Ti Super is about to be replaced by 5070 Ti. You can still pick the former up from German stores, e.g. Jacob.de or ComputerUniverse.net for 850-900eur

On AMD side, RX 7900 XT 20GB is down to ~650-700eur online; RX 7900 XTX to 900eur. But we are waiting on 9070 XT to release.

But all these high-end cards are essentially "do not buy if you can help it".

Thanks, yeah I think I'm set on getting a Nvidia card if I can. Hoping to dip my toes into some game dev too with Unreal Engine.

Will keep an eye out for a 5070 ti release date and try my luck, although I'm not optimistic 😅
