Change Rear Light Fitting

Hi all, hoping for a bit of advice. I have a Fiat Tipo which needs the rear light fitting replaced as the plastic is cracked. I got a replacement but have discovered the connector on the car is a 3 pin but the new fitting is a 4 pin. Question is, is there anyway to connect these up or do I just need to source another fitting? Or, is it possible to completely dissemble the fitting and put the new plastic covering on the old fitting and thus not worry about the connections at all? I need to pick up a 6 sided screwdriver so I'm not 100% sure if I can even remove the plastic cover (it appears to be sealed as well as screwed on).

    Pic of connection.
