Sendico for bulk buying games from Japan

Anyone used Sendico before? It's a middleman for, amongst other things, Yahoo Auctions in Japan.

You top up your account with money and bid on stuff through the site. It all gets shipped to their depot and when you're ready, you can get it all bulk shipped to you.

Great in theory, but between shipping to their depot, packing and shipping from Japan and import taxes on this end, I'm wondering if it's worth it and if so, what's the threshold?

I've been thinking about it for a while for some Famicom Disk System, games, the last few N64 titles I want, ditto SFC and assorted controllers and other accessories I like the look of.

    I prefer Buyee.

With sendico you have to add money in advance. But you are bidding on something so you don't know how much it will go to so you have to guess how much to add in advance and if you lose the action the money just sits there.

With buyee you just pay at the end with PayPal.

Choose seamail combined shipping and it's much cheaper but takes 2 months.

You will have to pay vat and customs as normal but still way cheaper than ebay and forums.

I've picked up cps3 boards, x68000, fmtowns marty and lots of other stuff.

I prefer from japan but flip between a few depending on what I'm getting or require not always games arcade related , be wary and read the restricted items list on all of there services though, I've had to leave a few bit behind on stuff because it contained "speakers" and other random things etc but to be fair they where always stuff i wasn't fussed about .But each to there own and most have some pros and cons.

Do work out what you will be paying though as some work out more expensive and only offer certain services for shipping and it can all soon mount up

while there is some value there ,its easy get caught up and end up costing you more with various charges and costs ,I've seen it happen many a person !!but if planned out that's if you pick up some good lots rather than singles etc, it can work out but costs soon ramps up and there seems to be less chance of skipping past customs these days ,

I don't find it as good anymore as there is a bit of a "premium" on everything for us gaijins.

I've used Sendico before. It works great....but the fees add up...fast. Not sure it worked out any cheaper than ebay by the end really.

The service charge(s), shipping (domestic and international) and customs mean you have to be very clear about what you're buying.

The usefulness comes from access to Yahoo auctions and mercari where bargains do pop up.

Buyee for me, I like you can store items for 30 days in their warehouse, then consolidate all purchases into one box. Then good options for shipping, slow boat is cheapest.

I think I’ll try Buyee then, get my list of wants sorted over the weekend and try to grab them and use the slow boat as suggested.

Prices and shipping from JPN on eBay are definitely upping my interest in trying this out!

Things have gotten a bit mad there alright. I've noticed even non working stuff is sometimes kinda silly money too, whereas 6-12 months ago it was priced way better. Just fyi, Sendico also lets you store items in the warehouse and then you can have the whole lot delivered in one go

Buyee and sendico have any issues with taric code assignment? Customs issues have popped up for me before with other services.
