Vodafone always connect with own-modem

    Hi,

Short version: can I use Vodafone Always Connect with my own router and 4G modem?

I currently have Eir Broadband, which I am very happy with overall; however, there was an outage during the storm due to a damaged pole. I can't blame Eir, as they fixed it in about three working days, so I'm not complaining.

I don't use the Eir modem, and I don't want to. My house is a weird shape, and to have a good connection everywhere, I invested in a Ubiquity setup with a few wired access points around the house.

During the outage, I used a 4G modem (the Ubiquity version) and a Vodafone pre-paid SIM as the backup. It all worked well.

I would like to continue using my own setup. In general, I find the free routers to be hopeless, as they need to be rebooted every few weeks.

Has anyone had any success with Vodafone Always Connect with their own router and 4G modem?

    Thank you.
