My data speed with 48 in Stepaside has been poor since Christmas. Speed of no more than 15mbs on 4g. I just joined in late November and it was much faster.

However, since last Sunday evening I am getting less than 1mbs, frequently less than 100kbs, often 0kbs. I have logged calls and 48 don't seem to have done anything about it other than ask me to reset my data settings.

Its not my phone. I can get 100mbs+ 1km down the road and 50mbs in Aldi underground carpark in Sandyford. I get 0kbs in my garage.

I would be interested in hearing from other boards users experience of 48 or three users in Stepaside area.

The problem is maybe 4G LTE being refarmed to 5G?

Is your mobile 5G but switched to 4G mode?

Someone else from Sligo had the same problem on Tesco mobile on Three

    My phone is 4g.

I doubt it's my phone if I can get almost 150mbs than 2km away, and 100mbs 1km away.

    Today, it's a bit better at 3 to 5mbs.

I know this sounds weird but try setting your phone to 3G mode and see what speed you get on that.

    Thanks, I got 2.2mbs. Back on 4g, it's 7.3mbs now. That's the highest in a week!

was just going to say that, 3G is 384Kbps, 3.5G UTMS HSPA is 14.4Mbps & almost all 3G networks are High Speed Packet Access+ can go on to 42.2Mbps.

Three Ireland I believe is HSPA+

Join the Three forums and ask, staff would be able to check this out for you being area specific

Thanks, I ran a few tests on 3g only. The highest I got was 3.8mbs and 4g is now under 3mbs.

It's a good suggestion. I would have liked to try this when I was getting 100kbs on 4g. All 48 support did was get me to reset apn even though I told them I was getting higher speed elsewhere, whch for me rules out the phone and puts it as a fault on the network. I will try the three community as suggested.

    Thanks again
