Conversion of existing building

    Hi all. I bought an old farmhouse and sheds a year or so ago. I Renovated the house and rented it out. In the past 6 months I have renovated 4 small to medium adjoining sheds into a living accommodation block. A local farmer who had fallen out with me because I wouldn’t sell him some road frontage land for a price that wouldn’t take you away for a weekend has possibly (probably) complained me to the county council. I received a warning letter about an unauthorised building. The sheds themselves have been in existence for over 50 years and I didn’t add an inch to the footprint. They are now converted into a 2 bedroomed, living room, bathroom, small kitchen block. All built to high spec, the roof highest point is 3.5 metres and overall size is 40 square metres. What is the opinion of those in the know of keeping what I built? My son was going to move into it given the impossibility of buying his own home. What is the likely measure to be taken by the council going to be in terms of the enforcement? Is there a good chance of a successful outcome if I fight and let it go to court? I don’t mean to be rude but everyone I speak to has an opinion so I’m really looking for an expert or someone who has been through the same mill as mine. Let me add - I have fields behind and to both sides of me. Not a neighbour within a few hundred feet. You cannot see the build from the front. It touches the main house the back but is not accessible from it. My wife and I were planning to move into the main house at some point. Thank you
