Playstation Remoteplay problem

    Hi folks,

I was delighted when the Remoteplay feature launched as my Playstation is in a busy living room which means I rarely get to play it. This feature would allow me to play via my laptop upstairs, or so I thought. I've had constant connection issues which makes it unusable, and wanted to check if it's fixable.

We have 500MB broadband with Virgin Media and the Playstation is connected to the router via ethernet cable. The Windows 11 laptop with the Remoteplay app is connected to the internet via Wifi.

I can connect to the PS via the app and it works seamlessly for a while, but then the connection will die. When I try reconnect, it won't work. I can normally reconnect again after restarting the Playstation and the laptop, but the same problem will happen after about 10 or 15 minutes.

Is this a known issue and is there anything I can do to resolve it?

Open to correction here, but do they both have to be on wifi?

Take ethernet out of PS and connect via wifi, same with laptop.

I just presumed that would be quicker? I'll try with both only on Wifi and report back, thanks.

I have my PS5 connected via ethernet. I havent tried remote play on my laptop though. It works fine on the PS Portal with PS5 on ethernet and Portal on wifi.
